L'OCCITANE

L’Occitane commissioned me to make an outdoor exhibition in the windows of their flagship store in London. My research staring points, were the site specific location, the brands aesthetic and our relationship with nature. In initial mockups, for the large lower main window I mapped out a portrait inspired by spring, and the brands commitment to the environment. For the upper windows, I wanted to adapt the concept of stain glass windows, traditionally seen in European churches as early as the 7th century, and make it something accessible and enchanting. I next set about sourcing ethically sourced bugs and butterflies, backdrops, flowers and wigs, as well as methods for the physical London install, before shooting and editing, making sure to combine elements of the window to come alive with VR.
